The COVID-19 pandemic will eventually go away🙏, but remote working is here to stay💪.

The pandemic is forcing many architecture companies to send their employees to work from home. Professionals have to figure out new ways to get work done when not everyone is in the same room.

The results of this "experiment" are yet to be seen. We do, however, need to try and make the best of it. As much as we are alone at home, we are now more connected than ever before.

I created RemoteArchitectsClub to help us support each other. We'll see we are not alone, share tips and tools, and help the profession through these weird times.

I believe remote work is possible in architecture. But not many companies were willing to give it a try. Now they have to.

And, who knows, maybe after COVID-19, some companies will change their minds and keep on playing around with remote working?

I surely hope so.

Who am I?

My name is Daniel, a Brazilian architect based in Berlin, Germany.

I am taking a break from architecture, quitting after working 10+ years in offices. Currently, I am pursuing new ways to work with architecture while still keeping full control of my time.

If remote working had been an option back then, I might not have quit in the first place.

You can find me on Twitter, LinkedIn, and on my personal blog, The Foreign Architect, where I write about architecture and travel.
